Gaskets made of EPDM-EL and NBR-DUO-EL materials have received the ISEGA safety declaration, are FDA-certified and can now be successfully used in the food sector.

After the death of the senior boss Dr.-lng. E. h. Hans J. Ziller, his four children take over the management and responsibility of the group of companies. Sales and administration of the Entrepreneurs’ Association in Düsseldorf are abandoned. In 1989, a concentration takes place in Hilden on Reisholzstrasse. The new administration, development, production and research center for the entire group of companies is built and occupied.

After successful foundation of the company NILOS in the field of conveyor belt equipment, it is again mining and knowledge from practice that solve another problem: The first G-ST ring (rubber-steel flange gasket) is developed. The previously used unstable rubber ring is made stable by a steel insert. The outer diameter of the ring centers itself independently in the flange on the bolt ring. Other advantages are the spherical shape and steel insert, better sealing effect and usability for higher pressures.
